Disaster can strike quickly and without warning, sometimes isolating entire neighborhoods. As Hurricane Katrina reminded us, neighbors may need to rely on each other and their own resources for several days before help arrives. Authorities strongly urge each family to be self-sustaining for at least five days.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a simple way to prepare for emergencies such as an earthquake or other major disaster. It does not require any special expertise or knowledge – just a desire to help and be more prepared.
This website is dedicated to the advancement of individual, family, and community disaster preparedness. Here you will find links to all the important components of The Power of Three Emergency Preparedness.
To get started, select one of the pages steps on the top right corner. Read the information, download the flyer, and watch the Three-Minute video. This should give you enough information to complete that step of getting prepared. Once you have completed a step, proceed to the next step. While they are not necessarily sequential in nature, it generally most helpful to complete them in order beginning with a Family Emergency Plan, then proceeding with The First Three Minutes.
We encourage feedback and sharing of tips and successes in getting ready for disasters of all types. This site is dedicated to sharing information only. Anything posted that is of a commercial nature will be taken down by the host.
